A local high point, Sibberoft, at the far end of the WW2 airfield with the decent to Hothorpe hill and the Welland Valley below. A vista at first glimpse appearing idyllic but all managed by man, for farming, husbandry and for transport. There exists a tension between our idea of the `countyside` and what the countryside really is, illustrated in this painting by the shadows decending across the picture.
